Old. New. To-Duex: List Launch Fail

To-Do and Tuex-Duex my dynamic work duo- photo by Bernadette Ignacio

So, if you’ve read my pervious post To Do or not To Do?, you’d  know that I set a simple ambition for myself to start utilizing To-Do lists. It seems like such an easy task right? For me, WRONG!

It’s hard to say why I haven’t begun what I, and many others, believe to be the saving grace of their work load. More importantly than the work load, is the work load execution. That, my friends, is my inherent quandary.

As much as you’d like to set an intention, it means ₣*¢₭ all if the action of intent does not follow. When I sit down in front of my computer, my intention is to be very specific of the work I will get done; emails, maintain social media platform, etc. But once I get clicking around all of my windows, I have opened up a Pandora’s box of virtual activity; downloads, replies, blog skimming, photo editing, yadayadayda. The time was spent, but the work undone…I’m sure some of you can relate.

It is the digital crux of our time, the demise of too much choice.

Now, my Mac as much as I need it, is currently my frienemy. Both allowing me to get the much-loved writing work done when I can focus, but also the portal of distraction doom when I can’t. This calls for a new game plan:

1. My old-school written To-Do, is for the day ahead in the big picture.

2. My my too cool for school digital Teux-Duex, is my micromanaging tool for when I pop open my sexy, white laptop, and plan on getting busy.

For those of you who are not familiar with Teux-Duex, it is a fantastic online To-Do list that is amazingly simple, and the best part is it’s free! The gratification of scratching off your list still pays with a click, or a swipe of a finger as an app on you smart phone. Cool right?!?

I’ll let you, my beautiful reader, know how it goes. For now, ta ta! And I bid you a Do…or Duex?
